WHAT WE DO

Behold is a program specifically built to give women the skills needed to pray using Visio Divina. This method of prayer is a complement to Lectio Divina, which is an encounter with God through open receptivity to His Word in Scripture.

Visio Divina allows God to change one's life by not only listening to Him, but also encountering Him through art.  This is accomplished through both praying with art books, and also creating art workshops.

Our focus is to help women know of their dignity by praying on themes relevant to every woman.  We have books on praying with Mary's femininity through art, praying through fear and loss, and also how to encounter Christ in deeper trust.

OUR MISSION

Our Mission is to lead women to understand their God-given dignity through a faith-filled encounter with God, the saints, one another, and themselves by praying with and creating sacred art in communion.

OUR VISION

Behold envisions a world in which women know of their value and unique gifts, who are bold in sharing their immense beauty with the world.

Centered on Community

Our groups meet for prayer time together, and then gather for discussion.  With this community component, women grow in fellowship and discuss topics of art, femininity, faith, and life.

Grounded in

Catholic Tradition

We are rooted in our Catholic Faith, which has a rich tradition of art.  Our program is given from a Catholic perspective, and sends the invitation to all women to encounter the Lord.

WHY WE CHOSE OUR NAME

In Scripture, "Behold" is used often when one is presented with a call or when one encounters God through goodness of beauty.

Behold Visio Divina exists for the sake to give women the opportunity to encounter the beauty of God and themselves, and go forth into the world sharing this beauty.
